How XI Degrees xG works
xG measures the shortest route between the two players of the day. It does not predict a goal: it sets the benchmark for your path.
The shortest benchmark
Before publication, XI Degrees calculates every valid route in the frozen daily graph. The smallest number of connections becomes xG.
xG, xG + 1, xG + 2…
If xG is 3 and you connect the players in three moves, you hit xG. Four moves score xG + 1; five score xG + 2.
A frozen, verifiable measure
xG does not change during the day. Every accepted connection rests on at least a two-day overlap at the same senior club in the published catalog.
More than one solution may exist
Any validated chain can complete the challenge. After completion, signed-in players can inspect up to three frozen shortest examples.
Why play again?
A first route can be correct without being optimal. Inspect the shortest examples after signing in, or replay to remove a detour yourself.
